Adopting the Name “Chicago Public Schools”

• That the Board of Education of the City of Chicago does now adopt the name "Chicago Public Schools" to designate the public school system, its staff and administration. The official legal name "Board of Education of the City of Chicago" is to be used to refer to the governing body of the school district and in all legal documents and contexts.
• That this Resolution shall be in full force and effective immediately upon its passage, and that the General Superintendent of Schools and the Chief Financial Officer or their designees shall establish a schedule for phasing in the use of the name "Chicago Public Schools" on all appropriate documents, signs and other insignia relating to their respective areas of responsibility, as permitted by current inventories and cost considerations.
